HAYWORTH LEAGUE

2023 - 24

OFFICIAL RULES & REGULATIONS

 

 

  1. Games will be governed in most part by the rules of The Iowa High School Athletic Association.
  2. Games will be 2 - HALFS, with each half being 18 minutes running clock. The clock will stop the last minute of each half.
  3. All overtimes will be 1 minute. The 3rd overtime will be sudden death.
  4. If a team has a 20 point lead in the second half there will be a running clock the whole half.
  5. Substitutions must report to the scorers table to check in.
  6. Each team will get 3 timeouts per game.  Each team will get 1 timeout in the overtime.
  7. Any defense is permitted (man, zone, pressing, etc.) However, a team can only full court press to a 20 point lead.
  8. Games will begin promptly at the time designated. All teams must be ready 10 minutes before their scheduled time. Adequate warm-up time should in most cases be permitted.
  9. The 3 point shot will be used on the courts that are marked.
  10. Players are asked to raise their hands on fouls, to help our scorers.
  11. Alternating jump ball is in effect.
  12. The small size ball (woman’s ball, 28.5) will be our game ball.
  13. All teams must have numbered tops.
  14. Teams will shoot 1 and 1 on the 7th team foul. 2 shots on the 10th.
  15. Practice balls will not be furnished.
  16. A reminder to supervise your team before and after your games.
  17. This league will not tolerate any unsportsmanlike behavior by anyone.                                          You will be asked to LEAVE THE GYM.
